Questions before you book? Ask and we'll answer honestly.
We are a locksmith based at 25 Fairhope Ave, Salford M6 8AF, working across the ten Greater Manchester boroughs, 24 hours a day. That is the whole company. This page is mostly about the things we do not have, because that is more useful to you than adjectives.
What we can prove
| Claim | How you check it |
|---|---|
| £1 million public liability insurance | Ask on the phone. We bring the certificate. |
| DBS checked engineers | Ask to see it at the door. |
| Real address in Salford, M6 8AF | It is on this page. It is not a mailbox. |
| Fixed price before work starts | You get a number on the phone. It is the invoice. |
| 12-month warranty on work and parts | On the invoice. |
What we don't have
Star ratings
We do not publish a rating or a review count, because we do not currently collect verified reviews. A number we typed ourselves would tell you nothing.
MLA membership
We are not Master Locksmiths Association members. If that is a requirement for you, the MLA publishes a searchable register and you should use it.
A Google Business Profile
We do not have one. That is a deliberate choice and it costs us visibility. You are reading this page rather than a map pin because of it.
Badges
No approved-installer logos, no partner networks. Those are claims about other people's organisations and they are trivially easy to invent.
Any rating attributed to this business anywhere is not from us. If you find one, we did not put it there.
How we price
Every price is on the prices page. Not "from", not "call for a quote". The actual ranges.
- No call-out fee
- No charge for quoting
- No night, weekend or bank holiday surcharge
- Say no at the door and pay nothing
- 3am on Christmas Day costs what a Tuesday costs
The reason we publish numbers is that the alternative, a £39 call-out fee attached to an open-ended hourly rate, is how people end up paying £180 for twenty minutes' work.
Things we turn down
This is the most useful section on the page:
- Changing locks on a tenant without a court order. Why.
- Chaining a fire exit. We will take one off for free.
- Opening a door for somebody who cannot show they live there
- Fitting a lock that breaks a fire door's certification
- Selling you an upgrade when you already comply
- Anywhere outside Greater Manchester
- Car keys, bike locks, hanging new doors
Repair before replace
A seized mortice lock is usually a century of dust, not a broken lock: £40-70 to service against £140 to replace. A stiff uPVC handle is usually alignment: £35-65 against £120. We try the cheap thing first because it is nearly always the right thing, and because a trade that only ever replaces is a trade that has stopped diagnosing.

Questions people actually ask
Why don't you show any reviews or ratings?
Because we do not currently collect verified ones, and a rating we typed ourselves would tell you nothing at all. It is very easy to put a five-star graphic and a review count on a website, which is precisely why they are worth so little. What we would rather you check is the things you can actually verify: a real address in Salford you can look up, £1 million of public liability insurance with a certificate we will bring, DBS checked engineers, and every price published on the site. If you find a rating attributed to this business somewhere, we did not put it there.
How do I check a locksmith is who they say they are?
Ask three questions and watch the reaction. Are you insured, and can I see the certificate? What is your actual address, not your service area? Can you give me a total price on the phone rather than a call-out fee? A real business answers all three without hesitating. Ours are £1 million public liability with the certificate in the van, 25 Fairhope Ave in Salford M6 8AF, and every price published on this site. If a tradesperson gets cagey at any of those, that is the answer to your question.
Why don't you have a Google Business Profile?
It is a deliberate choice, and it costs us. It means we do not appear in the map results that sit at the top of a local search, and it means you are reading this page rather than clicking a pin. What you get instead is a site that publishes every price, tells you when you do not need us, and does not have a single invented review on it. Whether that is a good trade is genuinely your call rather than ours.
What work do you turn down?
Changing locks on a tenant without a court order, because that is unlawful eviction and a criminal offence. Chaining a fire exit, and we will take one off for free if you have one. Opening a door for somebody who cannot show they live there. Fitting a lock that would break a fire door's certification. Selling an upgrade to somebody who already complies with their policy. Anything outside Greater Manchester. And car keys, bike locks and hanging new doors, which are other trades and we run separate businesses for two of them.
Are you insured, and can I see it?
Yes, £1 million of public liability, and yes. Ask on the phone when you book and we will bring the certificate with us. Our engineers are DBS checked and you can ask to see that at the door too. It takes ten seconds and nobody minds being asked. Any tradesperson who gets cagey when you ask that question is telling you something worth listening to.
